PRO dips into dropper market with debut Koryak seatpost

PRO, Shimano’s finishing kit and clothing arm, today announced the release of their new Koryak dropper post, a first for the Japanese component giant. This stealth routed, cable actuated dropper will provide 120mm of non-indexed travel in a package aimed at full integration with Shimano groupsets.

Weighing in at a claimed 520g for the whole package, this brings the Koryak in line with the venerable Rockshox Reverb (also 520g claimed), which is among the lightest dropper posts on the market.

Two lever options will be available for the Koryak: a regular lever which can be mounted on either the left or right of the bars, and and another that mimics Shimano’s Firebolt style levers, as seen on the Di2 variants of XT and XTR. Both levers are compatible with Shimano’s i-Spec II for the cleanest cockpit possible.

A full complement of spare parts will be available for the Koryak, including bushings and air cartridges to help prolong the life of the seatpost.

The Koryak will be available by autumn through Shimano’s international distributors. Pricing was TBC at time of writing – we'll update when we have more.
