Has Specialized made its best bike ever? That’s the question we pose this month as we test the latest iteration of the The Big S's cobble-conquering Roubaix. With its innovative front-end suspension the answer may very well be in the affirmative.

Electronic shifting might not be innovative any more but the technology's ubiquity in the armouries of all the major groupset manufacturers proves it was no flash in the pan. We put six bikes through their paces, from brands including Eastway, Bianchi and De Rosa.
