Wilier Trestina has entered the ever growing adventure road market with two new models, first up is the Jaroon+, a simply gorgeous looking brazed and polished steel frame designed around 27+ tyres.
The frame stands out thanks to its beautifully machined dropouts, high-polish finish and brazed welds that use a process Wilier is calling internal brazing. This process sees the brazing material inserted into the tube joints and torched to melting point with some quite serious skill, giving a clean, uniform, linear finish to the welds — which looks simply stunning.
The fat-tyre specification may have limited appeal, but we reckon the Jaroon+ looks like some serious fun. We’ve already put in our order for a test bike so we’ll report back to tell you if it’s as much fun as it is good looking.
For those looking for a tamer gravel cum bike-packing machine, Wilier also has a standard Jaroon (with the same gorgeous weld finish on the frame) that runs on a still wide, but a bit more ‘normal’ set of 42c Maxxis Happy medium treads.
