For next season, Rotor have the new QX1 1x road chainring, the new carbon Q-Ring and INpower software and crank-based power meter.

The QX1 1x road chainring goes from 38t up to 52t, and Rotor says its new carbon Q-Ring is 8% lighter and 20% stiffer than the hugely popular original, which promises more power, better pedalling efficiency and reduced knee pain thanks to its asymmetric shape.

Also new for 2016 is the crank-based power meter, compatible with any of Rotor’s 30mm cranks. It places four strain gauges and an accelerometer inside the crank axle, and claims to deliver up to 300 hours of run time from a single AA battery.

Most impressively perhaps, the INPower software that drives the new power meter includes, in addition to the usual metrics, something called Torque360. This enables riders to identify where they apply maximum torque in the pedal stroke, and adjust their chainring accordingly.
