Diego Ulissi (UAE Team Emirates) secured overall victory at the Tour of Turkey after defending his slim lead on the final stage in Istanbul.
A break of four riders almost escaped the grasp of the peloton but they were caught with three kilometres to go just as the race turned right onto an uphill finish.

Edward Theuns (Trek-Segafredo) tried to split the front group on the climb but Sam Bennett (Bora-Hansgrohe) was on his wheel, only for the Irishman to slide out on the final corner. Theuns had a gap, surged past Matteo Pelucchi (Bora-Hansgrohe) and stayed clear to win the stage.
