Mikel Landa secured overall victory at the Vuelta a Burgos after Team Sky dominated the racing on the mountain finish to Lagunas de Neila.
Teammate Teo Geoghegan Hart was the last rider of the break to be caught with 2.5km to go and soon after, Landa accelerated, splitting the front group as the gradient hit 10%. Only Colombia’s Miguel Angel Lopez (Astana) and Enric Mas (Quick-Step Floors) could follow him.
Lopez jumped away in sight of the finish to win the stage and Mas took second, as Landa eased up and waved to the crowd as he celebrated his victory.

Landa finished 40 seconds ahead of Mas in the final overall classification, with De La Cruz third at 46 seconds.
