Team Sky has played a big part in the development of Kask's new helmet the Valegro, which has been designed to be breathable, superlight and super comfortable. It has a massive 36 vents and is claimed to have minimal pad to head contact.

So it was good to finally see the helmet in the flesh, and armed with our trusty pocket digital scales we weighed the medium sample on show at Eurobike at 182.3g. Kask claims 180g for a small, so that's close enough for us, and it's certainly one of the lightest road helmets around.

The Valegro should be in stores by December, but pricing is currently TBC.
