Wout Van Aert stormed to victory in the muddy Fiuggi Regione Lazio round of the World Cup, while Marcel Meisen pushed hard to take second place with Tom Meeusen in third. European Champion Toon Aerts had enjoyed a strong race until a crash on a descent saw him leaving the race with a suspected broken collarbone.
