British Cycling officials have said that they have no knowledge of what was in the mystery package, sent from their base in Manchester to Team Sky at the Criterium du Dauphine in 2011.
British Cycling president, Bob Howden and Dr George Gilbert, the chair of British Cycling Ethics Commission, were responding to questions from British members of parliament during a hearing in the Culture, Media and Sport Committee looking into anti-doping and ethics in sport.
Committee secretary Damian Collins did not waste any time in getting to issue of the contents of the now famous jiffy bag, which came to light following the leaking of Bradley Wiggins’ therapeutic use exemption (TUE) information.

Howden and Gilbert both said they do not know what was in the package that British Cycling coach Simon Cope took out to Team Sky at the end of the Criterium du Dauphine in June 2011.
“We have not looked into this because we have been asked by UKAD not to look in to it” Howden said. “They said they’re happy with the evidence we’ve given.”
