2017 Tour Down Under start list

The Tour Down Under again kicks off the WorldTour calendar in 2017, with the Australian stage race held over six days between January 17-22, around sunny Adelaide in South Australia.

All 18 WorldTour teams will be action, with organisers already revealing that world champion Peter Sagan will make his debut in Bora-Hansgrohe colours in Australia.

Simon Gerrans won the 2016 Tour Down Under and will be chasing a fifth victory in 2017. He will lead the Orica-Scott team along with Colombia’s Esteban Chaves and sprinter Caleb Ewan. Richie Porte and Rohan Dennis (BMC) will lead the Australian challenge against Orica-Scott, with both capable of winning overall.

Geraint Thomas is expected to lead Team Sky as he again starts his season early, while former teammate Ben Swift will make his debut with the UAE Abu Dhabi team after they finally secured a WorldTour licence.

The Tour Down Under start list will be updated with further rider names when the teams announce their line-ups.
