Hidden away on Look’s stand, taking a back seat to the brand’s new TT bike and myriad high-end super light pedals and components, were arguably the most useful pair of shoes at the whole of Eurobike.
Called the Touring shoe, these are in fact a useable everyday shoe that makes it possible to ride your road bike in proper walk-around everyday shoes.
Most of us at BikeRadar can’t count the number of times we’ve jumped on our race-pedal equipped road shoes to just nip out to meet friends or head to the supermarket… and spent the whole time slipping and sliding around on cleat specific soles.
Between the two cleat pieces is a section of sole that's designed to be walked on while saving the cleat parts from wear
Coming to the rescue, these new Look shoes feature a fully treaded and cushioned sole on a reasonably stiff reinforced base (but still flexible enough to walk in). They have an integrated cleat bolt base that actually splits the cleat into two pieces (with a bar between the two pieces that you can walk on), onto which two cleat pieces bolt. They come as standard with a wide nine degrees of float.
