GoPro Hero5 action cams overview
There are two Hero5 cameras in the GoPro range: the GoPro Hero5 Black and the GoPro Hero5 Session.
The Hero5 cameras feature an updated stereo mic and advanced wind-noise reduction system. The camera gets three microphones and automatically picks which two to use based on the amount of wind and background noise.
The new cameras also do away with the waterproof housing with built-in waterproofing down to 33ft / 10m. GoPro also says the new Hero5 is compatible with all current mounts as well as the Karma Drone.
New for the Hero5 cameras is the voice control system, which allows the camera to be operated using catchphrases like “GoPro take a photo,” and “GoPro start recording,” and at launch, the Hero5 will recognize voice commands in seven languages (English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Chinese and Japanese). They’ve also adopted the one button on/off and record system debuted on the Session cameras for the Hero5.
Both new Hero5 cameras also get what the brand is calling "Professional-Grade Electronic Video Stabilization". This new image stabilization narrows the frame by about 10 percent, which GoPro claims to be 'far less than other technology' from other brands.
