Kirsten Wild (Hitec Products) took out the sprint victory on the final stage of the Women's Tour of California in Sacramento. The Dutch powerhouse won by a clean set of wheels over a fast finishing Lisa Brennauer (Canyon-SRAM), with stage 3 winner Marianne Vos (Rabo-Liv) slotting in for third.
Race leader Megan Guarnier (Boels Dolmans) took the initiative to fend off any assault on her yellow jersey by taking the maximum time bonus in the intermediate sprint, and then finishing in the field to win the overall from Kristin Armstrong (Twenty 16 - Ridebiker), with Evelyn Stevens in third.
Thanks to her overall victory in the stage race, Guarnier took the lead of the UCI Women's WorldTour classification from her teammate and world champion Lizzie Armitstead, who was not present in California.
