Davide Martinelli gave Etixx-Quickstep its 12th victory of the season on stage 2 of the Tour Cycliste International La Provence, taking out the bunch sprint ahead of teammate Fernando Gaviria in Istres.
The pair led into a treacherous final turn with just over 100m to go, and a speed hump in the exit of the bend caused a crash behind them. Daniele Ratto (Androni Giocattoli) made it around the carnage for third.

Thomas Voeckler (Direct Energie) continues in the race lead after his solo victory on the opening stage.
