Fizik Kurve Chameleon saddle

The Kurve sits right at the top of Fizik’s range and is available in three shapes for riders with different amounts of flexibility. Which to choose depends on your ability to touch, or not, your toes – we opted for the ‘Chameleon’ profile ('Snakes' are more flexible, 'Bulls' less so, in Fizik-speak).

The saddle uses a unique ‘Mobius’ alloy rail system and a ‘Re.Flex’ carbon shell designed to twist and adapt with your inputs. You can also switch between two comfort ‘tunes’ by swapping out a piece under the nose. We stuck with the softer option so as not to cancel out the flexing action.

At 231g it’s no skimpy lightweight and it feels firm at first, but the long, flat shape makes snap weight movements a cinch, and the subtle way the Kurve moves with you dramatically increases comfort on lengthy stints in the saddle. It’s only the price that’ll limit its appeal.
