Boels-Dolmans won the opening team time trial at the women's Energiewacht Tour Wednesday. They stormed to the victory by 20 seconds ahead of runner-up team Canyon-SRAM and an additional second ahead of Orica-AIS.

Their powerful performance over the 11.3km route in Groningen has bumped Ellen Van Dijk into the overall race lead ahead of stage 2's 116.8km race from Winsum to Winsum.
