New city cycling clothing company Upright Cyclist just released its latest take on the commuter jean, the 12.5oz Riding Denim. Made from Cone denim, the jeans are sewn in Los Angeles with a new cut and a burlier material than the company's first jean.
Company founder Philip Siegert is a former bike messenger, art school student and online clothing retail executive. He said the new new 12.5oz Jeans have enough room in the thigh for muscular cyclists, but are tapered slightly towards the ankle to keep the cuff away form the chain.
When rolled up, the jeans have large reflective stripes on the rear of both legs.
The riding jeans are available now for US$119 in sizes 32, 33, 34 and 36in waist, all with a 34in inseam.
