Deity DC31 Mohawk carbon handlebar review

http://ift.tt/eA8V8J

The DC31 Mohawk from Deity is only available with a 25mm rise and measures a whopping 787mm wide. It still manages to weigh in at just 280g, which is pretty damn feathery for a handlebar of this width.

There are no cut marks for lopping the bar down though – a bit of an oversight, especially considering that extreme breadth.

Though the alignment markings at the centre of the bar are minimal, they do the job and sit well with the rest of the graphics. The clamping zone is covered in a non-slip coating that minimises the amount of stem torque needed to hold the bar in place, and the included push-in end plugs help keep the carbon protected.

The bar is comfy on the trail thanks to its classic five degrees of upsweep and nine degrees of backsweep. It’s reassuringly stiff and solid feeling, but during long downhill runs the carbon does live up to Deity’s claims and help filter out vibrations.
