Lazer Wasp aero helmet - in brief review

http://ift.tt/eA8V8J

The striking looking Wasp was super fast in the wind tunnel in both positions – we'd guess that's thanks to the tail design, which doesn't rely on being flush to your back.

  • Pros: Fast, well vented, great vision

  • Cons: Heavy, fiddly visor and retention device

For the same reason, that long tail doesn't catch in the wind when you drop your head down.

The sprung retention device – which we found more effective than when we first tested this helmet – is still slightly fiddly to get on. The shallow visor keeps your face cooler and gives a fantastic field of vision, but pulling it forwards to open the useful vents is tricky and has to be done one side at a time, though you’re unlikely to move it during a race. The Wasp is heavy, too, but we didn't notice it much even on long training rides.
