Rapha's Pro Team Thermal Aerosuit will keep you toasty

http://ift.tt/1Lbvwit

Can the search for aero gains continue through winter? Rapha's asking that question with its new Pro Team Thermal Aerosuit, an all-in-one garment that combines the benefits of their Pro Team Jacket and Winter Tights in a single toasty package.

It's only available in black – no Rapha pink, yet – and costs an eye-watering £320 / $440 / AU$580, but we're intrigued by the idea. When the weather's grim, could there be anything better to clamber into for that high-tempo training ride? We'll find out and report back.

Looks pretty toasty

Rapha says the Thermal Aerosuit combines the best elements of its Pro Team range's cold-weather gear, beginning with a windproof and weather-resistant shell covering the arms and front courtesy of the Pro Team Jacket, plus a breathable jersey fabric across the back.

The lower half of the suit is a modified version of the Pro Team Winter Tights; the legs are lined with a 'waffle print' fabric that has a much higher surface area than flat-faced fabric. In theory, this means more heat can be trapped and more sweat wicked away from the skin. The chamois is the same as used in Rapha's Pro Team Bib Shorts.
