Nikki Harris has signed a one-year deal with Boels Dolmans for 2016 as she aims to ride on the road and combine her cyclo-cross aspirations next season.

Harris’ main aim for the coming year is to ride the Olympic Games road race for Great Britain, where she hopes to race alongside current world champion and future trade teammate, Lizzie Armistead.

Harris made a statement via Instagram on Thursday, outlining her plans to leave the Telenet Fidea team. "A quick message to my fans and supporters about my future; with some exciting opportunities & prospects ahead I decided it was necessary for me to end my chapter with Telenet Fidea cycling team a little earlier than initially planned," she said.

"I'm really grateful to Hans Van Kasteren and everyone involved at Telenet Fidea cycling team for giving me the opportunities over the last few seasons and also for giving me the freedom to make this early change. I'm extremely excited to get going into the next chapter of my career and hope to be able to share some more info with you soon! Of course nothing will change until you see me in my new colours on the 1st January next year and I hope to finish a happy relationship with Telenet with some strong performances!"

More to come...
