An overcast Yorkshire - on our way to York for Stage 2. Roads into York packed with cyclists... Lots of kids! Felt like we were in the peloton behind the red lead cars. Blown away by turnout in York ... The local race track was at capacity for today's depart One of Stage 1 winner Marcel Kittel's signed yellow jerseys on display Giant Shimano had this custom frame in the truck in preparation of a Kittel victory. It was built up last night. Giant Shimano had this custom frame in the truck in preparation of a Kittel victory. It was built up last night. No guessing as to who rolls on this machine. Yesterday's last minute dash for victory had Spartacus written all over it . On our way to the first climb - Col de Blubberhouses (1.8km at 6.1%). Here we are passing km 0. Unreal crowds in York... 4 or 5 deep for at least 10km. Unreal crowds in York... 4 or 5 deep for at least 10km. James Stratt capturing the vibe en route... Yorkshire now has a polka dot pub!! We watched the break over Col de Blubberhouses. Fantastically quiet while passing, eloquence of movement superb. Driving underneath the Flamme Rouge in Sheffield... Flat, fast and thankfully straight finish. The riders were minutes away... Press eagerly await Stage's two's sprint. Michael Rogers heads for Safety after Stage 2. Remember this guy!!! Vino interviews after Nibali's win. He was in the car with Astana's Director Sportif. Not sure which one it is, but among this chaos is a cable that brings the Tour to South Africa. Road closure doesn't happen by fluke- only a fraction of the total.
