Roadies, get ready for the bike challenge of 2014: a 440-mile (708km) trip from London to Edinburgh. BikeRadar has teamed up with event organisers Rat Race to offer a 15 percent discount off the entry price.
'Saver' tickets for the event are currently on sale on the Rat Race Road Trip website, priced between £178.50 and £385, depending on your category. These prices are only available until Friday 31 January though, after that the ticket prices will rise to the 'standard' rate. The BikeRadar discount will apply throughout, but this week is your last chance to get the cheapest possible tickets for the event.
After a highly successful inaugural event this year, where more than 95 percent of the 400 entrants successfully completed the epic, the Rat Race Road Trip will be back between 8 and 11 August, with upgraded venues and rider support .
The event takes in some of the best scenery in the UK, and can be completed as a solo rider or in pairs in either the 'challenger' or 'expert' categories, depending on how furiously they want to attack the challenge.
Each night, riders will pull into fully serviced camps where food stalls and a beer tent will help weary entrants prepare for the next day's action.
Jim Mee, head of events at Rat Race, said: "Road Trip 2013 laid down the gauntlet as a tough-as-nails outing and 2014 sees us upgrade our venues and support services but offer the same brutal 440-mile route.
"Over four days, this is a smashing long weekend on two wheels. Over two days, it’ll simply smash you."
The event complements Rat Race's multi-day MTB event, The Crossing – a 190-mile ride from the Cumbrian coast to Scarborough.
To secure your 15 percent discount on the Road Trip, visit the event website armed with voucher code BRRT15. The discount code is valid right up until the event.
