Genesis may be one of the smaller British bike brands, but it's constantly pushing into new areas. Witness this titanium Croix de Fer, a fresh addition to Genesis' growing range of do-it-all, drop handlebar gravel/adventure bikes for tempting you away from smooth tarmac surfaces.
The Croix de Fer has been around for a number of years, built on posh Reynolds 725 steel tubing, and has quietly built a name for itself as the bike that can do everything (as proved by British adventurer Vin Cox, who broke the round-the-world record aboard one back in 2010).

Double-butted titanium tubing promises a stiff, light and comfortable ride
So what’s new here? Well let’s start with the obvious – it’s made from 3AL-2.5V double-butted titanium. While the 'standard' Croix de Fer has skinny steel tubing, this titanium version gets a noticeably thicker down tube (oversized at 44mm), beefy S-Bend chainstays, and a tapered head tube mated to a full carbon fork.
Its 'go anywhere, do anything' heritage is still there though, in the shape of three bottle cage bosses, full mudguard eyelets and rack mounts, and generous tyre clearances that can accept rubber up to an enormous 40mm.
