Bauer wins Sun Tour prologue over Scully

Jack Bauer won the prologue at the Jayco Herald Sun Tour on Wednesday in Melbourne. Bauer (Garmin-Sharp) was fastest on the 2.5-kilometer course, in 3:00, to open the five-stage event.

Thomas Scully (New Zealand) was second, at one second. William Clarke (Drapac) was third, at two seconds.

Bauer leads the GC after the opening day over Scully. The Sun Tour continues Thursday with the 116km first stage, from Geelong to Ballarat.
