Salsa Cycles recalls fat bike forks

Salsa Cycle is recalling approximately 2,500 aluminum Bearpaw fat bike forks citing a risk of the steerer tube bending or breaking.


The Bearpaw fork came stock on Salsa Mukluk fat bikes and was also sold aftermarket from September 2013 through November 2014. Affected forks have the date codes 20130524, 20130710 or 20130826 stamped on the fork’s steerer, followed by “CWI2201BAN2.”


Affected bearpaw fork have a salsa compass logo on the outside of the fork blades. replacement forks have the compass on the inside of the fork blades: affected bearpaw fork have a salsa compass logo on the outside of the fork blades. replacement forks have the compass on the inside of the fork blades


Recalled Bearpaw fork have a Salsa compass logo on the outside of the fork blades. Replacement forks have the compass on the inside of the fork blades


Riders who purchased complete bikes equipped with the Bearpaw fork, as well as those who purchased it aftermarket, should immediately stop using it and contact a Salsa dealer for a free inspection and replacement fork.
