The Fox Striker is nicely constructed: full in-moulding extends under the rim of the shell, protecting the EPS foam from dings and dents. The shell drops reasonably low at the back, offering more protection than some more cross-country-orientated lids, without the bulk of more enduro-focused ones.
The retention system is one of the simpler systems we've seen, with a straightforward push/pull ratchet system. Despite this, it has decent levels of adjustability and is easy to use when you’ve got gloves on. The cradle that secures the helmet is wide, and provides a good, comfortable hold on the head.
The visor on the Striker is a small, stubby affair, and lacks adjustability, but its small size means it doesn’t obstruct vision and adjusting its position would make little difference to its effectiveness.
The 22 vents draw in plenty of cool air and, with deep internal channelling and grilled rear exit ports, ventilation is standout-good.
The only negative we found was that we’d rather the rear section of the straps started a little wider, rather from the centre, where they can get caught up in the cradles.
