RYDE Trace Enduro/Bitex review

http://ift.tt/eA8V8J

Old-Skool rim legend Rigida has a new name – RYDE – and a radical range of super-wide rims. The Trace Enduro is wider internally than most wide rims are externally. Big tyres blow up like fat-bike rubber and even skinny tyres square out to become extra stable rock-shrugging specials.

The Bitex hubs use two sets of three pawls in different sequences, effectively halving engagement lag so they start driving almost immediately. The rims are light so the wheels accelerate well. The fattened tyres feel slow on roads or smooth trails and are stubborn to lean into corners, but in the rough the extra float and grip is equally noticeable. The affordable price includes a full set of wheel adaptors and they blow up tubeless easily if you add tape too.
