Should I Buy a Foldable Bike?

History of Foldable Bikes

Foldable bikes have been in existence in some form or another since the 1890s. Where space is an issue a folding bicycle is convenient. Since the 1970s the foldable bikes have been able to create bikes which could fit in a small corner or be hung on a coat rack. These bikes are great for space saving (which is especially important when you have a tiny apartment). Keeping your bike inside instead of chained outside can save it from weather and potential theft. There are many reasons you should buy a foldable bike.

What to consider when choosing a bike?

Some things to consider when buying a foldable bicycle are as follows. While foldable bikes are usually more expensive than regular bikes, the fact that they are virtually theft proof means that your investment will be protected as long as you are able to keep the bike in or easy reach. Yes, foldable bikes save space. They fit easily into cramped spaces. Apartment owners can keep the bike on top of their fridge if there is nowhere else. However, some users have found difficulty folding them quickly. If speed is not an issue, then this is less important.

Who, what, when, where, why?

Keep in mind, a foldable bicycle is not typically meant for long trips. However, you can fold your bike up, stash it in your car and use it at your destination easily. For even longer trips of the intercontinental or international variety, foldable bikes can be stashed in airline luggage without any additional charges. Since they can be taken anywhere (from public transportation, to hiking), foldable bikes encourage a green and healthy lifestyle. While the bike itself costs more than usual, the fact that it encourages riding the bicycle instead of driving which saves you the other kind of green energy.

Where can I sell my foldable bike and get a new one?

Foldable bikes also have a high resale value as they are highly sought after. You might not get all of your money back in an Amazon transaction, but you will get a lot of it back depending on the age and wear on your bike. Using Amazon to buy and sell foldable bikes seems like the most logical idea. Amazon has the largest consumer base in the world. Users can buy a folding bicycle from another user for nearly half the marked price of a store. Amazon is incredibly user friendly and a convenient platform for selling your own bikes. While foldable bicycles are not cheap, the return on them is higher than on most bikes.
