Five years ago Stages Cycling started a trend with left-crank power meters, and today the company began selling dual-sided meters and right-crank meters.
The Stages Power LR dual-sided meter is what Team Sky raced during the last two Tours de France, but with a slightly different battery placement on the right crank.
The Power LR offers true left/right measurement, and can be split into two separate meters if the rider desires. The Power LR was announced last fall, and is shipping now.
The new Stages Power R right-side meter works just like the original Stages meter by measuring power on one leg and doubling the wattage number. This unit can be a solution for certain bikes where left-crank clearance is limited, such as aero bikes with brake calipers underneath the chainstays.
