Saracen has just revealed its 2017 bicycle line, among which was this - a new range-topping addition to the brand’s Hack adventure road bike line.
Saracen Hack highlights
- Shimano 105 5800 hydraulic disc groupset
- Proven alloy frame with carbon thru-axle fork
- Halo H-Block 38mm Twin Rail tyres
- Rack and mudguard ready
The cheekily named Hack in Black is of course a nod to rock legends AC/DC, and with a retail price of £1,399 and an impressive spec sheet, it’s a bike that could soon draw its own crowd.
The Hack in Black uses a repainted version of Saracen’s proven Hack alloy frame. It’s a no-nonsense affair that pairs large tyre clearances with internal cable routing and a regular threaded bottom bracket.
There’s a regular quick release axle at the rear and a brake mount inboard of the rear triangle. Mudguard eyelets and rack mounts mean practicality is only an accessory away. Also the same for this year is the thru-axle, tapered carbon fork at the front of the bike.
We found the current Hack to be agile and involving and, giving that this is the same chassis, we’ve got high hopes for this model.
