Rio Paralympics cycling: TV schedule and how to watch

After Team GB's huge success at this year's Rio Olympics, it's now time to focus on ParalympicsGB and get excitied about what's in store for the athletes. With the opening ceremony taking place this evening, we don't have long to wait for plenty more cycling action — but when and where can you watch? Here is our guide to all of the paralympic bike action at the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games.

Schedule of cycling events at the 2016 Paralympics

At this year's Paralympics, the cycling events will get underway on Thursday 8 September with the women's and men's track pursuit cycling – the day after the opening ceremony.

Keep an eye out for Kadeena Cox who is competing in both the cycling and athletics. She will race in the 100m and 500m time trial, the 400m and the 4x100m relay as well as the road race next week. While on the athletics track she will compete in the T37 sprinter category.

The road racing will finish up the cycling programme, running from Wednesday 14 September to Saturday 17 September.

Check your local listings for specific television coverage. Channel 4 will be managing TV coverage in the UK, and BBC Radio will air audio coverage. NBC will be airing cycling online and on some of its channels in the US and live coverage of individual Paralympic events can be streamed live each day on TeamUSA.org.

Track cycling events (8–11 September)

  • Thursday 8 September: Women's Individual C1-2-3 Pursuit qualification and finals, Women's Individual C4 Pursuit qualification and finals, Women's Individual C5 Pursuit qualification and finals and Men's Individual B Pursuit qualification and finals.
  • Friday 9 September: Women's Individual B 1km Time Trial finals, Men's Individual C1 Pursuit qualification and finals, Men's Individual C2 Pursuit qualification and finals, Men's Individual C3 Pursuit qualification and finals Men's Individual C4-5 1km Time Trial finals.
  • Saturday 10 September: Women's Individual C1-2-3 500m Time Trial finals, Men's Individual C4 Pursuit qualification and finals, Men's Individual C5 Pursuit qualification and finals, Men's Individual C1-2-3 1km Time Trial finals, Women's Individual C4-5 500m Time Trial finals.
  • Sunday 11 September: Women's Individual B Pursuit qualification and finals, Mixed C1-5 750m Team Sprint qualification and finals, Men's Individual B 1km Time Trial finals.

Road time trial (14 September)

  • Female: H1-2-3, H4-5, C1-2-3, C4, C5, B, T1-2
  • Male:  H2, H3, H4, H5, C1, C2, C3, C4, C5, B, T1-2

Road cycling (15–17 September)

  • Thursday 15 September: Men's Road Race H5, Men's Road Race H2, Women's Road Race H5, Women's Road Race H1-2-3-4, Men's Road Race H4, Men's Road Race H3
  • Friday 16 September: Men's Road Race C1-2-3, Women's Road Race C1-2-3, Men's Road Race T1-2, Women's Road Race T1-2, Mixed Team Relay H2-5
  • Saturday 17 September: Men's Road Race C4-5, Women's Road Race C4-5, Men's Road Race B, Women's Road Race B
