The Vivo Plus is Scott’s new MIPS (Multi-directional Impact Protection System) equipped trail lid, targeted at riders who don’t want to compromise on safety but don’t feel the need for the further-increased coverage of the more expensive Stego.
The built-in MIPS membrane is designed to dissipate rotational forces should your noggin hit the ground at an angle. Fortunately we can’t comment on the effectiveness of that specific feature, but it’s nice to know it’s there should it be required.

The fit of the Vivo is superb, with no hot spots or rub marks noticeable after a full day’s riding. The retention cradle offers micro-fine adjustment and is a doddle to use. Breathability is equally good, and we like the sleek lines and neat yet effective adjustable peak too.
At 320g the lid is light enough to go largely unnoticed even on long days in the hills. Our only gripe is with the low-density forehead pads, which don’t do a great job of wicking sweat away on longer climbs. Impressive overall comfort still makes the Vivo Plus one of our go-to brain protectors though.
