Adidas launches aluminium and titanium-infused Climachill jersey

Adidas’s new Supernova Climachill jersey is kitted with three new technologies to help keep riders cool and comfortable during hot days in the saddle – aluminium cooling spheres, 'SubZero yarns' and 'Polar Fibres'.

Available from today in men and women’s cuts for a surprisingly reasonable £55 (US and Australian pricing and availability is currently unknown), the Adidas Climachill jersey is described by the three-stripe brand as “the next generation of active cooling wear for cyclistsâ€.

Aluminium cooling spheres might not be spherical, but they are round and made from aluminium. Positioned over the upper back, this formation of tiny raised discs is designed to give a cooling sensation over one of the body’s biggest heat producing zones.

It’s not entirely clear how it achieves this, but we imagine the cooler metal helps displace heat from the warm body as well as keeping a slight gap between skin and the jersey material.
