Belgian helmet brand Lazer has announced new updates to the Blade road helmet and Magma trail helmet. Both helmets are now based on the flagship Z1, and benefit greatly from trickle-down technology.
The Blade and Magma are long-standing models in Lazer's range, and have been due for an update for some time. Both notably lacked the Rollsys retention system, seen on other Lazer helmets such as the Z1 and the O2. These newly updated models bring the unique wrap-around fit offered by Rollsys to a lower price point, and may possibly render the O2 – previously the starting point for the system – obselete.

The Blade brings the Advance Rollsys retention system to a low price point
The Blade road helmet features 22 vents and weighs a claimed 240g in a size medium. Carried down from the Z1 is the Advanced Rollsys retention system, which sees a nylon band wrap around the wearer's head. The helmet’s fit is symmetrically adjusted through the adjustable ‘head basket’ by a thumbwheel on top of the helmet.
The Blade also inherits the new ‘strap divider system’ (SSD) from the Z1, something we’re fans of. A clip-on aeroshell is also rumoured to be in the works.
