Nash, Powers win day 1 of 2013 Jingle Cross Rock

Katerina Nash (Luna) and Jeremy Powers (Rapha-Focus) opened the three-day Jingle Cross Rock with wins in the elite women’s and men’s races, respectively, on Friday night in Iowa City, Iowa.

Nash distanced local Amanda Miller (Tibco-To the Top) late in the women’s event for the victory. Meredith Miller (Cal Giant-Specialized) was third.

In the men’s race, Powers bested Ben Berden, whose Raleigh-Clement teammate Jamey Driscoll was third.

The trio of UCI ’cross races continues Saturday.
